Artist Denise Buisman Pilger
Montreal based Graphic artist Denise Buisman Pilger never fails to impress me and her recent collaboration with Photographer Pazit Perez is no less impressive. Edgy and Erotic, the "Journey" collection combines Perez's portraits with Pilger's cityscapes into unique pieces of art.
The following work belongs to Pilger's on-going series of city-scapes entitled "Travelling the World", which pays homage to some of her favorite places.
Pilger's view of each city is at once recognizable but quite unique. Merging many photographs into one the viewer is led into an urban landscape whereupon buildings, cars, people, road signs, taxis, vendors, streets, and other meld into one vision competing for our attention. Each City's essence is brilliantly captured and the longer you look at each piece the more things you will discover.
Pilger's pieces can be seen at the Viva Vida Art Gallery, 278 -2 Lakeshore Road, Pointe Claire. www.vivavidaartgallery.com
Pilger and Pazit will be presenting their "Journey" project at the 2012 "Festival International Montréal en Arts" which is held on St. Catherine Street from June 27th to July 1st.
